ORANGE COUNTY IMC BREAKFAST MEETING - May 8, 2008

Consulting Careers in Transition:
Seven Principles of a Successful Free Agency
With Bill Ellermeyer, Principal, The Ellermeyer Company

Your career is always in transition, whether you are with an employer or in your own consulting practice -- and you have no choice but to become the business manager of your own enterprise. The winners will be those who succeed in positioning themselves most strategically in today's mobile economy.

New opportunities are created, and the line between employment and free-lance is becoming less distinct, as younger upward-mobile professionals change companies more often, older professionals are outplaced, and more professionals seamlessly cycle between employment and consulting. A question for all professionals, in particular consultants, is when to retire. Should you live to work or work to live? A new concept is "unretirement," which cannot only enrich your life, but also lengthen it.

Join us at the IMC Orange County Breakfast Meeting on Thursday, May 8, as Orange County's Bill Ellermeyer discusses how to position yourself to strive in today's rapidly changing global environment. Some of the covered topics will be:

• The concept of "free agency," whether you are employed or a free-lancer.
• How to spot opportunities in a rapidly changing environment.
• Strategies of switching between employment and free-lance consulting.
• Strategies to build and market your portfolio.
• Strategies to build and maintain your network.
• Unretirement, and how to balance work and free time.
• And a lot more...

Expect Bill's presentation to be eye opening from a professional who has probably managed the careers of more high-level executives in Orange County than anyone else. There will be plenty of opportunity for personal interaction. This will be a great meeting to invite friends who are currently consulting or are considering a consulting career.
