What You Need to Know about Building a Consulting Career

Over her more than 34 years as a successful management consultant, Marsha Lewin has devoted a part of her time to pro bono mentoring of new consultants. During our afternoon session on April 20, let Marsha help you prepare yourself for a successful consulting career in this practical, exciting and fun workshop, which will address the basic building blocks of a successful consulting practice. Topics will include:

  • Organizing yourself so you have time to consult and keep the client pipeline full.
  • Covering yourself financially, legally, and administratively.
  • Avoiding the most common marketing materials mistakes.
  • Practicing ethically
  • Having a good time while you’re at it!

Bring your marketing materials and business plans. We’ll discuss the first three submitted sets (without names). To be included and to get professional advice from Marsha, please email your materials to marsha@marshalewin.com by April 1.

This will be an informative, interactive session with participation by all attendees, from people to are just now considering consulting as a career move to old pros.

Join Marsha Lewin during our evening session on April 20, as she speaks from her own experience on building and sustaining a successful consulting practice over 34  years through many economic cycles. Insights that you will gain include:

  • Strategies to sell your services.
  • Proposals that get you the engagement.
  • Keeping your costs to a minimum.
  • Fee setting for success.
  • Effective networking.
  • Keeping your perspective when all others are losing theirs.

Be a lucky winner and bring home a book to supplement your learning on April 20, as Marsha will raffle off a copy of each of her three current books: The Overnight Consultant, The Consultant's Survival Guide, and Better Software Project Management. Copies will also be available for sale.
