Afternoon Session:
What Makes You Unique as a Management Consultant?

Management Consultants need to know how to "spell" the terms "management" and "consulting". You must know the distinct processes of management and consulting well. You also need to define and strive to be unique, in that you need to differentiate yourself from the thousands of other consultants that are calling on your prospective clients. Your unique qualities include:

  • Your brand and marketing media

  • Your combined industry/business functional specialty niche

  • Your style and chemistry

  • Your "bedside manner"

  • Your methodology

  • Your products

Afternoon Speaker: Peter Crosby, CMC

Pete Crosby, CMC, is Principal of CGR Management Consultants. He entered consulting in 1969 with A. T. Kearney in San Francisco as their youngest ever consultant. His experience covers most areas of supply chain management, including the buy, make, move, store, sell, deliver, and information communications activities. He holds a BS in engineering from UC Berkeley and two graduate degrees from the Department of Management Science & Engineering at Stanford University and the Stanford Business School. He has conducted more than 215 management consulting engagements for clients. He is a CMC and a past president of IMC SoCal.
